I'll be perfectly honest when I say this, but I think that the new series on NBC, "Heroes" is perhaps the greatest television show that there is on television today. The reasons for this are many. Let me start out by explaining I have thought about this for quite sometime and only now am willing to say it as they leave all their viewers perplexed and in the dark as to what may happen when the show resumes in January.
It has a little bit of something for everyone. Theres comedy that we can get out of Hiro Nakamura, there suspense that we get out of Niki Sanders, theres a sense of understanding depicted by Mohinder. These are all things that we can all find some solace in, and Heroes does a great job of displaying it to the viewer.
The plot line is also fantastic. For anyone who may be a junkie of sci-fi, Heroes is a perfect fit because of the character's abilities to do crazy things, like teleport, read others minds, fly, and paint the future. These are all cool skills that we vicariously wish we had. It is fun to see them being played out on the tv, and that they all know that they should contribute to the betterment of mankind. If you don't like sci-fi you can still enjoy the show because of the drama and plot twists. I still have no idea whether Claire Bennet's father is good or bad. The suspense is unbelievable and the imagination that it took to create this show is ingenious.
I also want to talk further about the fact that the show promotes that human nature is inherently trying to do good. These people all have special skills, yes, but they don't necessarily need to use them for good. A majority of the characters are trying to work together to save the world, with only a small percentage of them becoming power hungry.
The show promotes a very pleasing view of mankind, and that is also a different thing to watch on TV.
Still skeptical as to whether or not Heroes is a good show. I would suggest you watching an episode of your own. It will blow your mind.
