So a lot of people in my life have let me down lately. I don't know why, but whenever people decide to be awful, they all do it at once. As a result, I've been talking to my mom a lot.
She keeps telling me not to burn bridges. She's been telling me this since I was ten, but I'm starting to believe this advice is as antiquated as her views on what constitutes real dancing. Why? because when you talk about a bridge,
you think connections. But bridges LEAD SOMEWHERE. Why have a bridge hanging around when it could fall on you or the ones you love when you need its support? Some bridges are fatally unstable. They'll never live up to what you need them for. These are the bridges you must burn, whether igniting the fire scares you or not.
